Neustar’s Number Management service group provides essential directory database services for most of North America (through the Number Portability Administration Center, or NPAC). In addition, the company serves as the North American Numbering Plan Administrator and the National Pooling Administrator.

The Numbering Management service group is segmented into the following groups:

• The NPAC team manages the database that enables North American telephone consumers to keep their numbers when switching carriers. Carriers also use the NPAC to communicate network changes to all other North American carriers.
• The OMS team helps carriers exchange operating information, simplify order management, and facilitate workflows. In fact, many of these orders streamline the Number Portability process itself.
• Legal Compliance Services supports customers in meeting audit requirements and the demands of the law enforcement community for the lawful intercept of communications.
